个人简介
Professor Richard G.Weiss is currently the professorof chemistry at Georgetown University, Visiting Assistant Professor of Chemistry, Instituto de Quimica, Universidade de São Paulo (Brazil). He is thevisiting professor of universidade de Vigo, Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Universidad de Costa Rica, etc.
Prof. Weiss hasmany honors and awards. He is the Senior Fulbright Research Fellowship (Brazil), Member of National Academy of Inventors, Pfizer Visiting Professorship, Indian Institute of Science and Chinese Academy of Sciences Visiting Professorship for Senior International Scientist, etc. He has received Charles L. Gordon Award for service to chemistry from Chemical Society of Washington, Patenting Award from Georgetown University and Career Research Award from Georgetown University, etc.
Prof. Weiss's research interests involve many aspects, including materials, physical organic chemistry, organic photochemistry and photophysics; syntheses and properties of thermally and chemically reversible gels; study of reaction rates and mechanisms; anisotropic solvent effects on reaction mechanisms; ionic liquid crystals as mechanistic probes and 'green solvents'; molecular processes inpolymers. Moreover, he has published more than 300 scientific articles and given more than 500 lectures in universities and conferences.

在国家自然科学基金委的支持下,由厦门大学和华侨大学主办的2019“软物质与非平衡物理”研究生国际暑期学校于2019年8月5日到16日在厦门大学海韵校区举行。本届“暑期学校”旨在夯实专业基础、加强研究生科研能力,引领学术前沿,提高研究生进行科学研究的综合能力。暑期学校的课程设置将依据软物质与非平衡物理学科的发展和前沿研究领域设置相关交叉议题,邀请海内外学术水平高、教学经验丰富的知名专家、学者就专业基础和前沿进行授课和讲座。
